Professor “E”
Group Hug Productions and Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship are partnering to creating Professor “E” - a series of musical animated shorts a la “School House Rock”. The E stands for Entrepreneurship and the shorts are designed to plant the seed of self sufficiency and economic independence in the minds of at-risk Middle School youth. Everything Obsolete
Group Hug Productions is partnering with the National Black Programming Consortium (a division of PBS) to produce Everything Obsolete (EO). EO promotes community service and is about finding purpose in oneself and in others.
The story is told through the eyes of a Typewriter who wants to write another great novel, a Record player how wants to sing again, a Pinball Machine who wants a friend, and a Grandfather Clock who is running out of time. You can see the images here.
Carter’s Place
Carter’s Place was developed to inspire inner-city males ages 9 to 13 to believe in themselves. By producing “Carter’s Place,” an animated futuristic funk fantasy, young males will see positive images of characters which represent their age group, thereby, believing that they too can achieve great things.
A thirteen year-old boy and his buddy “Dawg” are on a quest to save the family business. They venture out in a dangerous new world built in the sky to protect a treasured legacy. They do the impossible and discover the obtainable – their destiny. You can see the teaser here.
Phantom
This non-verbal short film is about diversity and acceptance. Three independent characters (a dog, juke box and butterfly) are brought to life and must learn to coexist in order to survive. They can choose to remain separate and possibly meet the fate of their demise or unionize and rejoice in survival. See the short.
